Favorite Spots Moorea

Moorea is one of those places that feels effortless to explore. Everything is close, the scenery is constantly changing, and some of the best experiences aren’t complicated they’re simply stopping along the road and taking it all in.

These were some of my favorite places and experiences while exploring the island.

Belvedere Lookout

If you do one scenic stop in Moorea, this should be it. The Belvedere Lookout offers one of the most iconic views on the island, with a sweeping panorama over Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bay.

The view at the top feels like you’re seeing the entire island at once. We found it to be one of the most memorable viewpoints in Moorea.

Polynesian Ruins

Not far from the Belvedere Lookout, you’ll find ancient Polynesian ruins tucked into the lush landscape. These quiet stone structures offer a glimpse into the island’s history and feel completely removed from the more touristy parts of Moorea.

It’s a peaceful stop and worth taking a few minutes to walk through and appreciate.

Agricultural College (Lycee Agricole Opunohu)

This was one of the more unexpected stops and one of our favorites. The agricultural college has a small shop where you can try and purchase local products like fresh jams, fruit juices, and vanilla.

It’s a simple stop, but it gives you a taste of the island in a really authentic way.

Magic Mountain

This hike offers one of the most breathtaking views in Moorea, but getting there is part of the experience. The road is steep and a bit adventurous, but once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with incredible panoramic views over the lagoon.

It’s one of those places that feels a little more off then beaten path.

Moorea Juice Factory and Distillery

This is a fun and easy stop while driving around the island. You can sample a variety of juices and liqueurs made from local fruits, including pineapple, coconut, and passionfruit.

It’s a great place to pick up something to take home and adds a nice break to a day of exploring.

Snack Mahana

This was one of our favorite meals in Moorea. Snack Mahana is known for its relaxed setting right on the water and fresh local seafood.

It’s the kind of place where you sit, slow down, and enjoy the view while waiting for your meal. Simple, casual, and one of the most memorable dining experiences we had on the island.

Toatea Crêperie & Bar (Hilton Moorea)

One of our favorite moments at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa was stopping at Toatea Crêperie & Bar. It’s simple, but it ended up being something we looked forward to.

Whether you go sweet or savory, it’s the kind of relaxed experience that fits Moorea perfectly good food, beautiful surroundings, and no rush. It’s an easy stop if you’re staying at the resort, and a fun treat to mix into your day.

The Pineapple Route

Driving the Pineapple Route is one of the easiest ways to see a different side of Moorea. The road winds through pineapple fields with views of the mountains rising up in the background.

It’s not a single stop, but more of an experience just take your time, pull over when you want, and enjoy the scenery.

Moorea is full of moments like these. Simple stops that end up being the most memorable parts of the trip. These were some of our favorites, and I would go back to every one of them.
