Montagnana Italy at Christmas

Montagnana Italy is a walled medieval city with a history that spans thousands of years. We were here for one evening during the Christmas season. We pulled into Montagnana around 5:00 and our only plan for the evening was to visit the Christmas market, have dinner and spend the night in a castle outside of town Castello de Bevillaqua. At the Christmas Market they had medieval weapons out on display from the museum. This included catapults and battering rams. At the market there were vendors serving mulled wine, selling handicrafts and food items. There was also live entertainment, and a women playing a piano up in the air that had the illusion the piano was lifted up by balloons.

We had dinner at Castillo de Bevillaqua in their Restaurant All’Antica Ala. Rich in Medieval details. The restaurant is located inside the manor walls of this building from the 1300s.
