Nuna Raymi: A Celebration of the Soul in Cusco

Nuna Raymi: A Celebration of the Soul in Cusco

On our trip to Cusco, we found a restaurant we loved so much that we went back twice—Nuna Raymi. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere wraps you in warmth and tradition. The walls tell stories—black-and-white portraits of local farmers and artisans, baskets overflowing with native potatoes and corn, and a small cart set up with herbs and remedies like something straight from a bustling Peruvian street.

Nuna Raymi isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a tribute to Peru’s farmers, biodiversity, and heritage. Their philosophy centers on “Ecological Regenerative Gastronomy,” working directly with local organic farmers in the Cusco region. Every dish celebrates native ingredients, from the hundreds of potato varieties grown in the Andes to vibrant corn, fresh vegetables, and the occasional splash of chicha.

We enjoyed traditional Peruvian dishes that were both comforting and creative, each one made with care and beautifully presented. They also offered unique food experiences featuring the country’s staples—corn, potatoes, and chicha—so you could truly taste the heart of Peru in every bite.

And the best part? For the quality of the food, the prices were incredibly reasonable. You could feel good knowing that your meal supported fair trade and helped preserve the farming traditions and native biodiversity of Peru.
