Our dinner at the on-site restaurant was of simple, seasonally inspired Sicilian dishes made with care and served with small gestures of genuine hospitality.

The Winery Next Door: Donnafugata Etna

Donnafugata offers guided tours of vineyards, cellar, and barrel rooms, followed by professional tastings in their enoteca.  Their Etna holdings include terraces on the northern slope at altitudes around 700–750 m, planted in volcanic soils. 

The winery felt like part of the property’s surroundings and if you’re staying at Parco Statella, arranging a tasting at Donnafugata is a natural and enriching extension of your stay. Not to mention eliminates having to drive to visit an Etna vineyard and wine tasting.

Etna in View, Heart & Mind

One of the most unforgettable parts of our stay was the mountain itself. From the terraces, gardens, and rooms, Mount Etna stood in silent majesty sometimes dusted in snow, sometimes crowned with drifting smoke, always present in the light and shadows. As evening unfolded, Etna’s profile took on shifting hues: rose, violet, and finally deep indigo before nightfall.

In those hours, it felt like the land held its breath with you and that’s what makes Parco Statella more than lodging. It’s a place where time slows, memories deepen, and the mountain you came to see becomes part of your inner landscape.
