A Comfortable Stay at Hampton Inn London Waterloo

A Comfortable Stay at Hampton Inn London Waterloo

Choosing the right hotel in London can make a big difference, and our stay at the Hampton Inn London Waterloo turned out to be a great fit for us. It was comfortable, convenient, clean, and easy to return to after long days exploring the city.

Location

The location was one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. Hampton Inn London Waterloo is on the same side of the Thames as the London Eye, which made getting around on foot possible. We could walk across Westminster bridge and we did this one time. Google maps says it is a 25 minute walk to Westminster Abbey and a 16 minute walk to the London Eye. It was a bit of a walk especially in the cold to reach many of the major sights on the opposite side of the river. We used Uber and traditional London taxis when we didn’t feel like walking. Another major plus was how close the hotel is to Waterloo train station, making it simple to get around London and beyond.

Comfort & Shared Spaces

We were very comfortable during our stay. Beyond the room itself, there was a shared area with tables where we often sat in the evenings. They also had a bar in this area where you could order drinks, coffee, tea etc… We found ourselves returning to this space at night to relax, talk, and unwind after busy sightseeing days. It felt welcoming and easy, not rushed. We even sat here and listened to the Kings Christmas message on Christmas Day.

Breakfast & Dining at the Hotel

Breakfast was included and offered a large variety of choices, including traditional British dishes, This is where we tried baked beans and eggs. The breakfast was especially nice before heading out for full days of walking. It made mornings easy and stress free.

The hotel also has a restaurant serving wood-fired pizzas, which was a convenient option when we wanted something simple without going back out again. When so many things were closed on Christmas Eve we had pizzas there. They even gave us Christmas crackers and traditional mincemeat pies which was a fun experience.

Nearby Restaurants We Enjoyed

On nights when we wanted to stay close to the hotel after a long day, there were some excellent dining options nearby. Rosa’s Thai a great choice for Thai food and very close to the hotel. Everything we had was flavorful and satisfying, and it was an easy walk when we didn’t want to travel far. Wahaca Waterloo a fun, casual spot for Mexican inspired food, also within easy walking distance. The Nachos were very good, and it was perfect for a relaxed evening close to home base.

Having solid restaurant options nearby made the location even better, especially on nights when we were tired and wanted something easy but still enjoyable.

Nearby Conveniences

There was also a convenience store nearby, which made it easy to pick up bottled water and a few essentials. A small detail, but one that made the stay more comfortable.

Service & Overall Impression

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we felt well taken care of throughout our stay. Overall, Hampton Inn Waterloo was comfortable, well located, and easy to live in for several days.

We truly enjoyed staying here, and I would absolutely choose this hotel again when we return to London.
