Crowne Plaza Bruges Review, A Perfect Stay in Historic Bruges

We loved our stay at the Crowne Plaza Bruges and would absolutely stay here again. As an IHG member, we were upgraded to a suite, which made a December visit to Bruges especially comfortable.

The location alone makes this hotel hard to beat. It sits right in the historic center, directly on Burg Square, which meant we could walk everywhere. Market Square, canals, shops, museums, and restaurants were all just minutes away. Bruges is one of those cities where being centrally located really matters, and this spot made exploring effortless.

The Room & Suite Upgrade

Our suite was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out, with a separate seating area that made it feel like more than just a place to sleep. After long walks through the city often in cold winter weather it was wonderful to come back to a warm, comfortable space to relax, warm up, and recharge before heading back out.

The room felt quiet and peaceful at night despite being right in the center of everything, and the bed was very comfortable. It was the kind of room where you actually enjoyed spending time, not just passing through.

A Winter Friendly Hotel

Visiting Bruges in December is magical, but it can be chilly. One of the biggest perks of staying here was being able to return to the hotel during the day to warm up before heading back out again. That alone made the experience feel more relaxed and unhurried, especially during shorter winter days.

Breakfast & Service

The breakfast buffet was excellent and well worth including. There was a generous selection of hot and cold options, fresh fruit, pastries, and good coffee, exactly what you want before a full day of walking. It was much nicer to start the morning here than rushing around looking for breakfast in the cold.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. From check in to questions during the day, everything felt smooth and welcoming.

Final Thoughts

If you’re visiting Bruges, especially in winter, and want a hotel that combines comfort, walkability, and a truly unbeatable location, the Crowne Plaza Bruges is a fantastic choice. Between the central setting, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and the ability to easily pop back in throughout the day, it made our time in Bruges even more enjoyable.

This is one stay we’d happily repeat.
