Manarola, Italy is already one of the most beautiful villages in Cinque Terre, but during the Christmas season, it becomes even more special. Each winter, the hillside above the village is illuminated with the Manarola Nativity Scene, often described as the world’s largest illuminated nativity scene.

The display is set on the hillside above Manarola, one of the five villages of Cinque Terre in the Liguria region of Italy. At night, hundreds of figures and thousands of lights brighten the hillside, creating one of the most unique Christmas scenes in Italy.

What is the Manarola Nativity Scene?

The Manarola Nativity Scene is a large outdoor Christmas display built into the hillside above the village. It includes hundreds of handmade figures arranged across the slope, creating a glowing nativity scene that can be seen from the village below.
