Vlorë Day Plan
These are the plans I put together for our day in Vlore. We will arrive in Vlorë around 11:00 AM and do a short historic stop before heading to our hotel. Since we are staying near the water at Hotel Gold, it makes the most sense to see the center first and then spend the rest of the day enjoying the beach area.
Late Morning: Vlorë Historic Center
Before checking into the hotel, we will drive into the center of Vlorë and park near Flag Square / Independence Monument.
Our quick sightseeing loop will include:
Independence Monument
This is the main historic stop in Vlorë and is worth seeing because of the city’s connection to Albania’s independence.
Muradie Mosque
This is very close to Flag Square and easy to add to the same stop.
Short Old Town Walk
We will take a brief walk through the old town streets, but we will not make this a long sightseeing afternoon. Vlorë’s old town is worth a quick look, but the coast is the main reason we are staying here.
Plan about 45–75 minutes total for this stop.
Early Afternoon: Check Into Hotel Gold
After the historic center, we will drive to Hotel Gold in the Uji i Ftohtë / newer beach area of Vlorë.
Once we arrive, we can check in or drop our bags if the room is not ready. From there, the rest of the day will be relaxed and centered around the water.
Afternoon: Beach and Balcony Time
We will spend the afternoon near the hotel enjoying the beach area. We do not need to swim, but we can rent chairs nearby if they are available, sit by the water, or just relax on our balcony if we have a view.
This was the plan I created for our Vlorë stop: a quick historic walk before checking in, followed by a relaxed afternoon near the water. Since we were staying near Hotel Gold in the Uji i Ftohtë / newer beach area, I wanted the day to feel easy instead of over-scheduled.
This area is better for the kind of evening we want: beach views, a waterfront walk, restaurants nearby, and a slower coastal feel.
Early Evening: Wine and Snacks
Before dinner, we will pick up or bring wine and snacks and enjoy a little balcony time at the hotel. Since sunset is later, around 8:12 PM, we do not need to wait until sunset to eat.
This will be our relaxing “beach night” moment before dinner.
6:00 PM Dinner Near Hotel Gold
We usually like eating around 6:00 PM, so we will keep dinner close to the hotel instead of taking a taxi into town.
Good nearby options to consider:
Kripe Dhe Piper — first choice for a nice beach-night dinner near the hotel.
Amadeo Restaurant — good backup if we want the easiest close option.
After Dinner: Sunset Walk or Balcony
After dinner, we can take a slow walk along the waterfront near the hotel or return to the balcony for sunset. The walk near Hotel Gold is more of a waterfront road / promenade-style walk with beach sections, not a long soft-sand beach walk, so we should wear comfortable sandals or walking shoes.
