Over the last two years, White Cottage has undergone a transformation—a true labor of love as we worked to update and restore this 80-year-old farmhouse. Balancing charm with modern comfort, we carefully chose where to splurge and where to save. While we invested in solid surface quartz countertops to elevate the kitchen, we kept things budget-friendly with affordable yet stylish flooring and cabinets. Flooring for Farmhouse Remodel

While we had hoped to restore the original hardwood floors in the kitchen, it ultimately wasn’t possible. Instead, we opted for luxury vinyl flooring from TRUCOR, selecting Abstract Blue/Taupe for its durability and modern aesthetic. Although this specific color is no longer available on their website, a similar option is Abstract Black and White.Black and White

For the stairs, landing, and two bedrooms, we chose TRUCOR Helena Oak Helena Oak . This flooring blended beautifully with the original hardwood we were able to restore, creating a seamless transition between old and new. The warm tones and natural wood grain made it the perfect choice for maintaining the cottage’s classic charm while adding a fresh update.

Kitchen Cabinets for Farmhouse Remodel

We purchased our kitchen cabinets online from Cabinets.com, and their team was incredibly helpful in designing the layout based on our measurements. We chose the Shaker Maple Bright White style—a timeless, clean look that complements the cottage’s charm while keeping the space feeling fresh and bright. Their design assistance made the process seamless, ensuring the cabinets fit perfectly and maximized our kitchen’s functionality.

Door Pulls and knobs for Farmhouse Remodel

The drawer handles were also ordered from Amazon. I have been very happy with how the handles and knobs turned out

For the drawer pulls and knobs, we kept things simple and budget-friendly by ordering from Amazon. We selected Amazon Basic Drawer Knobs and Amazon Basic Drawer Handles, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Both options offer a clean, timeless look that ties the space together beautifully while staying well within budget. Faucets for Farmhouse Remodel

We chose Delta faucets throughout our home for their quality, style, and durability, all in a Venetian Bronze finish to complement our design aesthetic. All great farmhouse remodel ideas.

Bathroom Faucet: We went with the Delta Cassidy Two-Handle Centerset Bathroom Sink Faucet (Delta 2597LF-MPU), which adds a touch of classic elegance to the space.
Kitchen Faucet: Our kitchen features the Delta Cassidy Single-Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet (Delta 4197-DST). It includes a two-function spray head and Touch-Clean technology, making it as functional as it is beautiful.
Shower Faucet: For the shower, we selected the Delta T17494-I, which we purchased from Lowe’s.

Both the bathroom and kitchen faucets were purchased through Build with Ferguson, and we’ve been really pleased with their quality and performance!

Quartz

For the countertops and the backsplash we used Silestone. An excellent farmhouse remodel idea.

Paint Used

We painted all of the exterior doors Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze SW7048. All of the walls and trim were painted Sherwin Williams Alabaster SW7008

Sinks

The kitchen sink is from Lowes. It is the Karron undermount 32 inch x 19 inch black quartz single bowl kitchen sink.

The bathroom sink was also purchased at Lowes. It is the Kohler vertical white undermount rectangular traditional bathroom sink 19.81″x15.625″

Light Fixtures

The light fixtures were all purchased from Lowes Light Fixtures

Bathroom

The bathtub was also purchased at Lowes New Solar 30″x 60: L White Enameled Steel Oval Right Drain Alcove Soaking Bathtub

Furniture

Thomasville Langdon Fabric Sectional with Storage Ottoman from Costco

In all 3 bedrooms we put the Hedworth collection in black from Macys

Bedding in the bedrooms is also from Macys. We chose the Ralph Lauren Flynn Comforter sets. They are a fantastic denim with white stitching. each room will have different sheets and quilts. For one room I picked the Walford quilt and pillow shams from Ralph Lauren. We chose the Graydon soft weave 4-piece sheet sets. They are chambray Ralph Lauren sheet sets.

Appliances

The appliances we went with were the Frigidaire Gallery Collection. Im especially excited about the Frigidaire gas range that is the first range with an air fry oven.
