A Relaxing Riverside Stay at the Hilton Mainz
Our stay at the Hilton Mainz was one of those hotel experiences that quietly checks every box, comfort, location, service, and then adds a little magic on top. We spent two nights here over New Year’s Eve, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Here is my Hilton Mainz review.
Location: Right on the Rhine River
One of the standout features of the Hilton Mainz is its beautiful riverfront location. The hotel sits directly along the Rhine, offering peaceful water views while still being close to Mainz’s historic center.

While it’s walkable for Some, We Chose Convenience
We took an Uber from the Mainz train station to the hotel. We also used Uber to get from the hotel to Old Town and Mainz Cathedral.
Both rides were quick and easy, making getting around completely stress free.
The Room was Clean, Comfortable, and had a View to Remember
Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, exactly what you want after long travel days. But the real highlight? We had a riverfront room on New Year’s Eve, and at midnight we were treated to incredible fireworks reflected over the Rhine, an unforgettable way to ring in the new year without leaving our room.
It was one of those travel moments that feels completely effortless and special at the same time.
Dining & Lounge Experience
As Hilton Diamond members, we really appreciated the added perks here.
Executive Lounge: The hotel has a lovely Diamond lounge, open in the evening, which was a relaxing place to unwind after sightseeing.
Breakfast Buffet: Breakfast was included for Diamond members, and the buffet was generous and beautifully done. An excellent start to each day.
On-Site Restaurant: We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant one evening and enjoyed the experience. The restaurant overlooks the riverfront, making it a wonderful spot for dinner with a view.
Service was Friendly and Helpful
Customer service throughout our stay was consistently helpful and professional. The staff made everything feel easy and welcoming.
Final Thoughts: Would I Stay Again?
Absolutely! The Hilton Mainz offers a calm, scenic setting with reliable comfort, great dining, and thoughtful Diamond benefits. Add in the river views, and in our case, a front-row seat to New Year’s Eve fireworks, and it became a stay we’ll always remember.
